Happy Tuesday!!
(or is it still Monday? 🙂  who knows! It has been so crazy here at TMD!!!
Today’s story starts way back in January of 2012, at a quaint little cafe in Downtown Beaumont, Katherine & Co.
In walks a blonde beauty that I instantly recognized from school who had been referred by a friend, little did I know she would become one of the coolest brides I have ever had!
Her name was Haeley.
Haeley and I clicked almost immediately because we both have a love of all things vintage. She swears that she was born in the wrong era. She has a fondness for Grace Kelly, Scarlet O’Hara, Frank Sinatra to name just a few of her favorites. It was evident from the beginning that Haeley was detail oriented, another reason we clicked because to me its the details that tell the story.
Of course, like any other bride Haeley had done her homework and “pinned” all kinds of wedding inspiration to show me. However, half of her pictures were very rustic, while the other were the epitome of classic elegance. I am a sucker for juxtaposition in my designs, but it became evident very quickly that what suited Haeley the most was classic elegance. So from there I created this inspiration board for her early in the design process so we could keep her focused on the end result, as she requested!! (Yall know how easy it is to get distracted with different ideas thanks to our favorite “pinning” past time!)
Haeley and her groom would be married on October 13, 2012 in Silsbee, Texas at her childhood church, then would reception at the MCM Elegante Hotel
(Side note if any of you brides out there want a grand “ballroom” wedding, I highly suggest the Elegante. The staff is a.m.a.zing!!)
Another detail that Haeley wanted incorporated into her wedding was butler passed hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour. Well, let me just give a teeny visualization on what went down when she told me this… (picture someone {me} so excited that they almost cry, scream, run around the hotel, and jump up and down because the thought of a “room reveal” comes to mind)
Yea, that was me.
So the week is finally here, this wedding would mark a new chapter in TMD history. The biggest (420 guests) and most detailed wedding to date. The term “no pressure” doesn’t even begin to cover it.
On Friday the 12th, TMD loads up a car, an SUV, and a U-haul and departs for the hotel around 10 am. Around 12pm 800 hydrangeas and 1,000 roses arrive, among other fresh floral. Around 5pm 42 centerpieces are underway.
Rise and Shine Saturday morning at 6 am, its Haeley and Joel’s Wedding Day!!
The ceremony began promptly at 5:30 pm under the direction of MeShell’s Wedding Bells, and guest began arriving at the hotel around 6:40 pm to locked ballroom doors, No peeking!
Haeley and Joel arrived around 7:45 (around to the back of the hotel, we snuck them in through the kitchen/loading dock) and about 7:55 here is what happened…..
Drum. roll. please….
Cakes were made by Kay Palombo
Some of my favorite vendors were brought in for this spectacular wedding!!
My favorite dress salon Brickhouse Bridal outfitted Haeley in her amazing gown.
La Belle Fleur provided the wall draping.
Occasions provided the linens and napkins, that we then set-up.
Aztec provided the gold chivari chairs.
Emily Lockard Photography was the photographer.
REF Video Productions provided videography.
K & K Designs provided the stationery.
MeShell’s Wedding Bells provided direction of the ceremony and reception timeline.
And,
Tamara Menges Designs provided total design concept, floral, and set-up.
I have never had some many dreams about a wedding before! (except for my own!) I thoroughly enjoyed every second I got to spend detailing out the newly Mr. and Mrs. Batman’s wedding. I have no idea how many Katherine & Co. and Raos coffee dates we had, but each one seemed like I was gaining a true friend, not just another “client”.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Haeley and Joel for trusting me and allowing me to provide all that you did for your big day! I love you both, but am so sad its over!!
Next up, Haeley’s Bridal session! You are in for a HUGE treat with that one!
xoxo, Tamara
What a beautiful bride! Love the reception and all of the personal touches 🙂
