Hi Friends!

Today is a great day! Kerrington Snow is 1 month old already! My gracious!

The past month has been wonderful, and wonderfully hard. Perfect, and perfectly imperfect.

We have only had her home 12 days so far, but I love learning how to do this parenting gig alongside my best friend…mostly by trial and error, and instinct which I have been praying comes from the Lord! So far He is answering our prayers!

Whenever we found out Kerrington was in fact a girl (Have ya seen the video of us finding out? You can find it HERE!) I knew I would go crazy with pictures with her and flowers. I mean come on right? When mama is a floral designer…

I was nervous about doing them because I had no idea how she would act being on a hard surface for any amount of time, plus I’m not a photographer so I didn’t know any of the “tricks” they used to get all those great newborn shots you see on Pinterest.

However, here’s what I did for any of you other mamas out there who might want to do this yourselves as well…

1. I nursed her before I started working on the flowers, and laid her down already in just her diaper to let her food settle, but also so she would hopefully not be fussy. I let her sleep just as long as it took me to work on the flowers…about 20-30 minutes.

2. Then I checked my lighting and changed my settings on my camera to get it the way I wanted.

3. I then made the floral wreath, and just estimated how big to make it…but I left the bottom open just in case I messed it up when placing her in the middle.

4. I then got Snow and loosely wrapped her aqua Aden and Anais swaddle blanket (Thanks Jen!) I didn’t want her to be too tightly swaddled

5. Then I quickly put on her headband that my mom made her, and moved quickly to lay her down

6. Once we placed her, my mom was by her head and held it for me as I climbed the ladder to get the overhead shots, and when I was ready she moved her hands!

7. Baby girl stayed asleep for the whole time until the end (some funny outtakes are at the bottom!)

Here is the finished look! 100 times better than I pictured in my head!

After I got way over 300 pictures of the above “look” I changed it up and made a “1” out of the flowers! Just for fun!

I chose the colors because they match her nursery, and I want to get a big canvas made to hang in there!

We will do each months pictures the same way, but with flowers that compliment the season! Then after her first birthday, I will get a big frame made with all of them! So excited!

As promised above, here are some hilarious outtakes!
