Happy Tuesday!

Today I am starting a new blog series that I am calling Transparent Tuesday! I have been wanting to do this for quite some time, but today its happening!

It seems like so much bad comes from the internet, social media, and the media in general, but there are those that use this amazing technology for good. They use it to encourage and challenge others through their life lessons and to focus on what really matters in life- none of which revolve around how many facebook likes you get on each of your updates. Today I hope my words can do the same for you.

Most of you know I had the summer seemingly free to rebrand, focus on my relationship with God, and to give my husband the attention he so deserves. I have adopted some much needed new habits along the way which include sticking to my office hours, working out consistently, tithing, guarding my heart and mind on what I watch, listen to, and read, sitting outside with Kason without our cell phones, spending time in God’s word DAILY, and most importantly- quite possibly the best lesson I could ever learn- observing the Sabbath- intentionally

Did you know God didn’t create the Sabbath as merely a recommendation for us, but as a command and also as a gift! Ever thought about it as a gift? I do now, and it puts a whole new perspective on it for me.  Amazing! Thank you Lord!

Luckily, I began my new Sunday non-routine at the beginning of the summer and have observed it sense, but instead of my Sundays consisting of church then home for a Castle or Bones Marathon laying on the couch “resting” as they did in June and July, my Sundays have since been focused on truly spending the day with God: reading my Bible, praying, and reading 4 of Craig Groeschel’s books (Soul Detox, Altar Ego, Weird, and now The Christian Atheist) and husband and I are simultaneously reading Bob Goff’s Love Does!

I categorized this as a personal post, but I am proposing a drastic change for my business as well, based on my new perspective for God’s day. I will no longer be booking any weddings on Sundays. I have a few already on the books, and of course I will proceed with those sweet brides full force and 100% of my attention will be with them on their big day, but I will not be taking any more. I don’t want to miss any more Sunday mornings or the opportunity to give back a token of my gratitude that is truly His to begin with. This is a big decision especially in the wedding industry, as there are only so many “wedding days” in the week, but I feel like I am being called to take a stand for what I believe, and that is that God comes first.

Happy Transparent Tuesday y’all!

Xoxo, Tamara
