Oh how we ALL know how much I love New York! Today’s vendor feature is with one of New York’s hottest bridal salons, Bridal Reflections! With three fabulous salons, you are sure to find your dream dress when stepping into one of the designer gowns Bridal Reflections carries!
I have been in contact with Anthony, the General Manager (and the one in the middle below), for several weeks and he has been without a doubt one of the nicest people in the world!
I have many brides who want to go to New York to purchase their dress, and now I have somewhere to refer them to! I am so excited to share this interview with yall, so grab your coffee and enjoy!
Meet Anthony!
Hi Anthony! I’m elated you agreed to take part in our vendor feature! Can we begin with a little history on Bridal Reflections?
Bridal Reflections was started by my parents close to 40 years ago in Massapequa, Long Island. They soon after expanded into a location in Carle Place. About 7 years ago we opened our third location on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Since we have been in the city, we have already expanded into a larger location. While they are still involved in the business, the day to day operations are overseen by me, my sister RoseLynn, and Vice President Cristina DeMarco.
I read on your website that Bridal Reflections is family owned and operated; do you think is why Bridal Reflections has become such a prestigious salon to visit?
Absolutely. Being owned and operated by the same family has allowed Bridal Reflections to form special relationships with our designers, and also provide a consistent level of customer service that sets us apart from most salons. Customers can be assured that speaking with an owner is only a phone call away should they have any questions. There is also a high level of pride that our family takes in our business, and we truly care about making every customer feel welcomed and satisfied with their experience. The owners are very hands on and aware of what their customers’ demands and needs are and we help insure that these are fulfilled.
What is your favorite part of assisting bride’s in finding their dream dress?
An integral part of helping a bride find their dream dress is to focus on what is most important to the bride. A wedding gown is an emotional purchase in and of itself. Therefore, you want to take into consideration the bride’s personality and figure, and how she wants to portray herself on her wedding day. Bridal Reflections enjoys truly creating the look the bride has in mind and bringing it to life. It is also important to remember that a wedding lasts more than one day. When looking back at the photos, the gown will always be one of the most memorable aspects of the day. We want our brides to always feel they made the perfect choice.
What kind of experience can a bride be looking forward to when they visit your salon for the first time?
When the bride contacts the salon, we find out what type of style she is seeking so we are prepared to help her when she visits us. As a full service salon, our brides work one on one with a knowledgeable, experienced, friendly consultant. We take all the necessary time, without pressuring or rushing, to show her a wide range of styles. We realize this is an important, emotional decision.
One of the unique features we offer is having three locations each showcasing different designers, styles, and price points. The bride is then able to purchase at any salon and then have their fittings at whichever salon is most convenient.
I read on your website that Bridal Reflections has had quite a bit of press! Congratulations! An excerpt was done on your salon on 20/20 with Barbara Walters; can you tell us a little bit about that experience?
We have been fortunate to have our salons featured on virtually every major network in the metropolitan area. This particular segment centered on the recent royal wedding and we were proud to have been selected for our fashion opinion on Kate Middleton’s gown. We were asked to make some predictions about the impact of the royal wedding gown. General managers Cristina DeMarco and RoseLynn Micari , along with several of our consultants, were honored to be part of this ABC 20/20 episode . It was a great pleasure to work with such professionals
I also read that you have been featured multiple times on WeTV’s My Fair Wedding with David Tutera, can you share with us how you became involved and what it is like working with such a nationally recognized show?
We met with their publicist, Eda Kalkay, in regard to becoming involved with the show. It was a natural fit, as David Tutera is a friendly, caring individual who has a true passion for what he does. The fashion at Bridal Reflections, as well as the inviting atmosphere of our salons, makes filming in the salon an easy choice.
We also had Donnie Brown do a segment in the salon as well. He was involved with the wedding of Sanya Richards, who married Giants player Aaron Ross.
Over the years we have worked with Bob Mackie, who unveiled his bridal collection on television with Bridal Reflections, as well as many networks such as Channel 11, the Tyra Banks show, and Platinum Weddings. We’ve also had the pleasure of working with and dressing talents such as La La Vazquez, now the star of her own reality show.
We also have a long tradition of community service, which has had helpful exposure on national networks such as Fox News. We helped to create a now nationwide program of giving thousands of prom dresses to girls who could not afford it, enabling them to go to prom. We also have given hundreds of gowns to brides in the military, or the fiancés of serviceman, and we now work closely with Brides Across America in this endeavor.
I want to thank Anthony so much for taking time to answer our questions! Next time we are in New York we will definitely be stopping by to take in all the beautiful wedding goodness of the country’s top couture designers!
